The portal also contains information that is classified by country. You can browse through the geographic areas in the left-side panel; or you can search for records in certain countries by specifying a particular country in the advanced search.
Some information may refer to broader geographic areas (European Union, Europe and International). Therefore, users are advised to also check the information for these geographic groupings.
On the result page, you will see ‘country highlights’ selected, and all records valid for that country, grouped by subject topics. The 'country highlights' are information resources that have been selected as being of particular interest for a certain country - for example, links to information about the national forest programme or the national forest inventory. One record may be relevant to more than one topic, and therefore may appear more than once.
Each record in the metadatabase is described with Dublin Core type metadata elements, which are visible when you click on a record title.
