Forest and forestry education throughout Europe aims at preparing students for jobs in the areas of forestry, nature conservation and natural resource management. Organising forest education and curriculum development, as is the case for education in general, is the responsibility of each individual country. Even within the European Union, the competence of the EU does not allow direct measures to influence the national educational policies.
This part of the portal contains information on the educational institutions at all levels of forest education and lists study programmes that are taught in English throughout Europe. Additionally, information is provided on national education systems and the ongoing Bologna Process that aims to make the higher education systems in different countries in Europe more compatible and comparable. Furthermore, links to student and teacher mobility portals and education networks can be found.
