Forestry and Environmental NGOs

Niina Jokinen
Forestry organizations generally aim to unite people or organizations interested in the forest sector, provide information and to promote the acceptance of a responsible use of forests.

Environmental organizations aim to preserve, analyse or monitor the environment and some of these groups are also active in politics. Environmental organizations can be global, regional, national or local; they can be government-run or private. This section is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all environmental groups, initiatives, or issues, but a reference to the organizations encountered regularly on an international, regional or national basis and with interests related to forests, forestry, or forest industry. More information on these topics can be found on other environmental portals.
