DescriptionThe OECD groups 30 member countries sharing a commitment to democratic government and the market economy. OECD is made up of a number of Departments, Directorates, Centres and Agencies. One of these is the Enviroment Directorate. The Environment Directorate provides governments with the analytical basis to develop policies that are effective and economically efficient, including through country performance reviews, data collection, policy analysis, projections and modelling, and the development of common approaches. The Environment Directorate gives also information about climate change issues, e.g. free climate change documents and links. OECD publishes reports and statistics, which covers economic and social issues from macroeconomics, to trade, education, development, and science and innovation. One of the series it publishes are the 'Environmental Country Reviews'. These are peer reviews of environmental conditions and progress for each member country (and some non-OECD countries). It also publishes the OECD Environmental Data - Compendium. The publications are generally available for purchase, although some reports and data are freely available.
