DescriptionThe IUCN Environmental Law Programme (ELP) includes the World Commission on Environmental Law (WCEL) and the Environmental Law Centre (ELC), in collaboration with the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law. The WCEL is a network of environmental law and policy experts from all regions of the world who volunteer their knowledge and services to IUCN activities, especially to those of the IUCN Law Programme. The ELC was established in 1970 and is based in Bonn, Germany. Specific issues dealt with by the ELP are presented under the eight topic headings: Biodiversity; Climate Change and Energy; Ecosystem Services; Environmental Governance; Forests; Protected Areas; Soil; Water.
