METADATA
TitleEuropean Nature Information System (EUNIS)
CreatorEuropean Environment Agency (EEA)
Description"EUNIS data are collected and maintained by the European Topic Centre on Biological Diversity for the European Environment Agency and the European Environmental Information Observation Network to be used for environmental reporting and for assistance to the NATURA2000 process (EU Birds and Habitats Directives) and coordinated to the related EMERALD Network of the Bern Convention. The information available is useful, especially regarding individual species, habitat types or particular sites, and can be easily located using several different criteria of the search tools. The information available covers species, habitat and most designated sites in Europe. The database extends to include the common names of species in the majority of European languages. Common names in most of these languages can be used in the search tool and the correct species will be returned."
