The website provides a variety of information including: news; a global map of terrestrial carbon project locations; a 'Forest Carbon 101' guide to project design methodologies and market analyses; a Toolbox-specific search tool; a listing and geographic display of terrestrial carbon-related events around the globe; a dynamic map of terrestrial carbon projects around the globe. Users can search for projects by country, as well as by a variety of criteria such as project type, standard, registry and size. The site was launched at the December 2008 UN Climate Conference of the Parties in Poznan, Poland. The Ecosystem Marketplace is a non-profit organization based in the US that focuses on providing reliable information about ecosystem services such as water quality, carbon sequestration and biodiversity.
