DescriptionThe EU FLEGT Facility, hosted and managed by the European Forest Institute (EFI), supports the European Union, Member States and partner countries in implementing the EU FLEGT Action Plan. The FLEGT Facility Portal has been developed to set out the different policies adopted by the European Commission and EU member states under the EU FLEGT Action Plan, and chart progress towards achieving the aims of the plan. The Portal includes information about the role and activities of institutions acting at the European and national levels, including: European Commission; European Parliament; European Council; European Member States. Information is also provided concerning: EU market instruments (Voluntary Partnership Agreements - VPAs, Additional Legislative Options); Member State markets and instruments; Africa; Asia. The plan was published by the European Union in 2003. The EU FLEGT Facility, hosted and managed by the European Forest Institute (EFI), supports the European Union, Member States and partner countries in implementing the EU FLEGT Action Plan. The Facility was established in 2007 and mainly conducts activities in Africa, Asia and Central and South America.
