CreatorINRA – Institute national de la recherché agronomique, unité prospective
DescriptionINRA is a mission-oriented research institute that addresses core development issues, from the local to the international level. The research is guided by developments in scientific fields and focuses on worldwide challenges related to food and nutrition, the environment and land use facing the world of agriculture and agronomics today. INRA has carried out several foresight studies related to the agricultural sector and uses foresight to help to define its research policies. This tool makes it possible to analyse both contexts and the challenges involved, to plan for the future and to provide elements of reflection that contribute to the discussion and choice of priorities. "Prospective: la forêt, sa filière et leurs liens au territoire" study in 1998 provided points of reflection for orientating the forest research at the INRA. Examples of the INRA Foresight Unit studies are e.g. New Ruralities: the future of French rural areas in the Europe of 2030 and Technologies of the future.
