DescriptionThe European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) is the umbrella organisation of the European renewable energy industry, trade and research associations active in the sectors of photovoltaics, small hydropower, solar thermal, bioenergy, geothermal, ocean, concentrated solar power and wind energy. The web-pages provide information on the renewable energy sector including statistics, policy, and ongoing and completed projects. EREC represents an industry with an annual turnover of EUR 70 billion and providing over 550.000 jobs. EREC was established in 2000. EREC is committed to the following set of objectives: (1) to act as a forum for exchange of information and discussion on issues related to renewable energy sources (RES) as well as to represent the European RES industry & research community; (2) to provide information and consultancy on renewable energies to political decision makers at international levels, national, regional and local levels; (3) to launch policy initiatives for the creation of a positive framework for renewable energy; (4) to promote European technologies, products and services on global markets.
