Voluntary REDD+ Database

Data Source: EFI EUROFOREST Portal
TitleVoluntary REDD+ Database
CreatorREDD+ Partnership; Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO); UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC)
DescriptionThe Voluntary REDD+ Database (VRD) provides access to information on REDD+ financing, actions and results that has been reported to the REDD+ Partnership. By doing so, it aims to improve effectiveness, efficiency, transparency and coordination of REDD+ initiatives; and to support efforts to identify and analyze gaps and overlaps in REDD+ financing. The VRD relies solely on information voluntarily submitted by countries and institutions. They report on individual arrangements: agreements to undertake REDD+ related actions, involving funders and recipients. The VRD was formally launched at the Ministerial Meeting of the REDD+ Partnership in Nagoya, Japan, in October 2010, building on the initial data collection effort by Australia, France and Papua New Guinea launched during the Paris-Oslo process.
