DescriptionThe National Forest Programme Facility is a funding mechanism and an information initiative created in response to intergovernmental dialogue on forests which recognizes the essential role of national forest programmes (nfps) in addressing forest sector issues. The Facility supports active stakeholder participation at country level in the development and implementation of nfps with a focus on capacity building and information sharing. The site also contains links to development of nfps for countries throughout the world (including some European countries). The Facility is governed by a steering committee which includes representatives from beneficiary countries, the World Bank, funding partners, research institutions, NGOs, foundations, the private sector, and FAO.
