DescriptionThe German Forest Society was founded in 1899 and is the oldest professional organisation combining the different interests of German foresters and forest owners. Counting nearly 7000 members the society forms the biggest professional platform of the forest sector in Germany. The tasks of the DFV include: contributing to the important political processes, from Rio to the national forest programme; participation in public forest work; development of material for public forest work; development of sustainable solutions for the forest; member of the European Forestry Network (EFN), the federation of the European forest associations; organization of forest trade conference in Germany. DFV publishes the magazine proWald.
